Although I already posted pics from "Coutellia" in the Traditional French Friday thread, I thought I would create a new thread about "Coutellia", In order to reach more members of BladeForums . It might be interesting for some of you to learn more about the biggest European knife show and the knives presented.

"Coutellia" is held in the town of Thiers, in central France, one of the biggest historical centers of knife making in France. Normally the show talkes place in the second half of May. In the beginning "Coutellia" was held indoors, but as the venue soon grew too small to hold all the participiants and visitors it is now held under tents.

This year's show was on May 18th and 19th.

I will show you some pics but unfortunately I don't have that many. On Saturday morning the show opens at 09:00, till around 10:00 to 10:30 it's rather calm, it is possible to get good pics before the first big rush. The problem is that if you use that time for taking pics, your picking at the "top" tables will be very slim afterwards. Latest at 10:30 it's so crowded that you will be very challenged to get good pictures.

If you want to have a good choice at the tables of Jérôme Latreille, Jérôme Lamic, Atelier Graveline, Jéròme Bellon, Romain Alvarez etc.. you need to be there in the first half of an hour. It's tough business wasting your money on high-end knives......

This more then 300 knife makers and professionals took part.

Oh wow what a great show. I would love to see something like this.

Look at these gorgeous blades here! Simple but they really stood out. Boy I wish.

Thank you S Skyline Drive for all the great photos.
