Ok so in the past year and a half I have rekindled a passion for knives that stands to only get stronger. I have made the switch from tacticool knives to traditional for pocket EDC. But my new and expensive area of collecting as been fixed blades. Now I am not trying to start a company v. company thread and I am exclusively looking at a new Becker, but I need to figure out what I want. So what do I already have??? In blade length categories here it goes.

Neckers:
- Izula
- Swamp Warden
- Fiddleback Bow Legged Joe

3-4 inch blades:
- ESEE 3
- Mora Bushcraft Triflex
- Fiddleback Nessmuck
- Scrap Yard MUK (close enough)
- Busse Game Warden
- Busse SAR 3

6 and up
- Scrap Yard Scrapper 6
- Scrap Yard Yard Guard
- BK9
- Busse BWM

Now I may be missing a few but oh well. Now to my question what am I missing? I have gripes about each blade, but love each one for one reason or another. I have been eying the Becker/Ritter Collab. I really just want a new knife and hate asking for recommendation when most have been discussed before. But I figured with a look at what I have someone may be able to give me an idea of what I don't and how it can fill a spot. Let me know what you think.

In covering my bases my argument for the BK2 is the Scrapper 6 and the Yard Guard. With the exception of blade shape and a bit of length is there any real advantage with the BK2? The different steels need not be an issue to me.

I think you've about got all the bases covered with what you have.

A BK2 would fit right in there.

Or if you want something unlike what you have you could get a tactool.

If you legitimately try and justify "needing" a blade, there's a pretty good chance you'll never get another knife. From you're list, you don't "need" another knife. There isnt much out there that can do something that a knife you already have can't do.

That said, I'd go for a 2, or a 7. A 2 seems to fit a size niche you haven't quite filled, and a 7 is gonna be my next buy :)

Here's my take on it. All the knives you have listed are some fantastic cutter, beater, choppers and carvers. None of them have a 30yr old pedigree. Most of the thick bladed, drop point knives, were inspired by the BK2. Not only is it a terrific blade, but it is a legend in its own right, and may become the one you use the most.

Oh, and its $65 delivered to your door.

yar! well. welcome.

you could sell off one of those expensive blades you have, esp if it's a shelf-queen :) and probably come close to buy ALL the Beckers in one fell swoop. well, a lot of them :) think of all that STEEL! yar! makes my palms sweat thinking about it. just one of your knives. all that new steel. well then. i'll be in my bunk.

It seems like that is happening more and more. I see posts here and there and everywhere that someone has sold off their Busse to pay for several other knives that they end up liking more or that serve the same if not more purposes. Seems to be very common now. Kinda makes you think.

Just can't bring myself to use a $380 chopper. I am sure its the cat rear-end but I can't bring myself to do it. It like off-roading. I can't afford to fix it so I can't bring myself to wreck it. I like bang for my buck, I'm sure the BWM has both but not for me.

Time to go on an order spree. I'm thinking A set of Micarta for the BK9 and a BK2. I may order an EsKabar but I really want an orange one. So I think I have to order some Duracoat too. Time to think, time to think.
