I just bought a "covert" push dagger on a whim because it looked cool, I've been drinking, and it was only $14.00.

I'll probably just use it for opening envelopes and threatening my friends.:D

Is there anything they're actually good for?

.

Coercing the fat lady in the grocery line to "giddy up"?

More seriously, I think some have indicated they can be used for tent stakes.

Yeah, I get you. I'm feeling pretty low now for that spontaneous buy. It's like buying something off the rack next to the check-out aisle in the grocery store. I feel dirty!:o

Ha! You're not immune!

Sure! They have a lot of features that make them excellent SD blades.

The t-handle makes them almost impossible to lose during a fight, the way the blade fits in the hand makes it easy to conceal a drawn blade, it lends itself to simple yet powerful "punching" attacks without the need for lots of complex techniques or training, they allow for grappling attacks without dropping the knife, and they also tend to be easy to hide about your body. I've got a couple of quality made examples and I really like them.

Really, the reason they don't get recomended as SD weapons much is that in many/most places they are illegal, having been demonized and banned by hystarical, misguided law makers, along with switchblades, brass knuckes are other "evil" weapons that everyone knows "hoodlums" favor. :jerkit:

Polymer covert knives are good for a free rectal exam at county lock-up if you ever get caught trying to pass though a metal detector. Other than that, they are mostly good as letter openers and curios.

If you really needed some sort of fighting steel internationally, just buy a knife after leaving the airport...

well um for stabbing people in airports of course.

ok seriously i only ever use non metalic knives when i go to concerts i use one of the cia letter openers and a cia ice scrapper. i used to just carry a bottle( which i could just shatter) but now that they dont have these in concerts at most places anymore i switched over to the non metalic weapons.

one thing ive never understood is airport freindly combat boots. lets say your a swat tema member and your assualting into an airport dont you think your asssault rifle is gonna trigger any metal detector????

The beauty of a $14 knife is you can leave it in an assailant and not feel bad about leaving it behind.

But from that viewpoint, you might as well buy a $1 steak knife at Walmart and make a cardboard sheath for it. Disposable EDC and no shanker's remorse when it ends up in an evidence bag.

I happen to like cheap knives and commend you on your fine purchase, as long as you know/learn what to do with it.
