Latest frame tang out of the shop. Had a Gents vest pocket Bowie in mind but ended up making it bigger. 12 1/2" over all with a 7 1/2" blade. Steel is ladder pattern stainless and VG10 core san mai, guard is cut from the same stock. Full tapered frame and ferule are 416SS. Ferule spacers, escutcheon plate and domed pins are brass. Scales are dyed and stabilized Giraffe Bone.

Haven't used brass in over twenty years, had a hell of a time turning the shop over to find any bits I had left. Thanks for looking.

Wonderful work Peter - love it. Kudos on the symmetry along the cutting edge.

I recently made a cowboy bowie and had just enough brass left to make the guard. It's been laying around the shop for 10 years!

Such great pattern control on the laminated pieces. Frequently you see an amazing Damascus pattern, that is not quite right at the evenness on the lamination line for the edge.

Bang up control on this piece!

That's incredible. Pattern control is flawless. I love the gutsiness in making a stainless bowie! More people should dare!

Very pretty. The pins and escutcheon on the dark camel bone are lovely.

Is the blade core VG-10, or is the VG-10 one of the laminar layers, and the core is something else?

I think we are seeing a 2019 Bowie of the year finalist here. Perfect Bowie. I LOVE that ladder Damascus San mai.

Thanks so much for your comments gents. Hope I have not inadvertently misled anyone, the blade steel is commercially produced. I did not bang it out myself.
