Here's a piece recently completed for a client. My only direction was "make me a knife", something you would like to make, so here's what I came up with.
The 7" blade is forged 5160,and the OAL is 12".The fitings are deep etched wrought iron, and the handle material is elk antler with a patterened copper band with rawhide wrappings. The buttcap has a copper underlay, a wrought iron nail head finial, and is filed to match the stag. Sheath is rawhide over veg-tan, and the photo is by Chuck Ward.

OH man, that thing makes you want to go find a "buffler" or somethin' to skin. Really cool John

very nice rustic type of bowie. I'm sure the owner will love carrying it around and showing it to his friends

I am not generally into the rustic style but I really like that one.
