Fellas,
I just received the knife and sheath in the mail yesterday. John and Paul did an excellent job and I couldn't be more pleased. You'll have to settle for these pics until I can get Chuck to take some professional photos.

Specs are as follows:

6" San Francisco style "Cowboy Bowie" Explosion pattern Damascus, frame and guard from the same billet. Sterling silver accents.

Now that turned out awesome:eek:! The inlay Paul chose for the sheath looks almst exactly like the blade steel!

That really came out super nice Bob - congrats. I particularly like John's esecution of the guard on this piece and the damascus pattern is quite striking. Paul's execution of the sheath is typically excellent.

Thats Incredible..

Awesome Work...

:eek:WOW Exceptional package in every way. Amazing sheath as is typical... that one couldn't suit the knife any better.

Congratulations!

Peter

That's a fine looking knife and sheath combination.
I like all the bowie's features and the snake skin
sheath insert really complements the stag handle.
Congrats Bob.

Both pieces are just beautiful. As nice as the damasdcus is, I am mostly taken with the knife's overall form. It's three dimensional silhouette, if you will. It could be made using any variety of materials and would still turn out great. The guard blows me away!

Great stag . Fantastic pattern to the damascus and I like the Quillion guard. AS usual nobody I mean nobody does leather like Long.

The inlay on the sheath is Massasaugua Rattle Snake. It is very much like the Diamond Back other than the pattern.

In deference to my friend Terry, I did not kill, skin or tan this snake. I appreciate his stance on the subject.

VERY nice work, gentlemen!:thumbup:When I look at that knife, I think less of cowboys and more of a dressy San Francisco gentleman's knife albeit with a different guard style. Hey Paul.....got any more of that rattlesnake skin?:D

Thanks to Bob for suggesting this SF style Bowie in stag, and the request of a ball-end guard. This is another case of a collector's real contribution to a custom knife's design.

Paul's sheath work extends the design theme, and with his usual perfection.( BTW, Paul made me a folder sheath at the same time. I'll post a pic later, and you can see me wearing it at Blade.)

This was the first time to use solid Sterling Silver for all the file-worked accents. I like the idea, what do you think?

John

John, this is one of my favorite of your knives that I have had the great pleasure of seeing. It really is outstanding.

This knife is rich in materials and design. Often when a piece has everything added into it, it becomes a bit overwhelming. I can't say that here. This has a nice balance that's been achieved!
