Just saw this preview of an up coming movie called Cowboys and Aliens

I've been in a real Western's mode lately, this kinda looks interesting :)

and Happy New Year to you'all

You are right. It looks interesting, and the actors are top notch, though the title makes me say:

Yah, that's what I figured, and agree on the name, it's an eye catcher :)

I've always been a fan of the FireFly series, which mixes western and SciFi
did the reverse thing, saw the movie Serenity and then dug into the tv show
that spawned the movie, don't have cable where I'm at so I don't get the SciFi
channel or I'd have seen it before, but have since picked up the single season
of the series, which never should have ended :( lot of good stuff in there that
was yet to be made, nice to have what we can get now though! Shiny!

I got wind of it some months back on beyondhollywood.com and got me curious too. Looking forward to it.

^ RE: Firefly

I wish I got to watch that series a lot more. It was only aired briefly here in my country (BTW, that's where Christina Hendricks showed some backside skin too! Closest we could ever get to see her nekkid!) I did get to watch the movie though. That final scene with Mel with his "love" speech to River for his the ship was strong! Fiction I know, but that's how a captain should love his ship!

Jon Favreau, director of Ironman and Ironman 2, did a great little offbeat movie awhile back called The Big Empty (2003). It too was about cowboys and aliens . . . and bowling. So if anyone knows how to do this genre, it's him! :D :D

Glad to see Sam Rockwell, Keith Carradine, and Walton Goggins in this one. Looks like a bit of a sendup. I'm in!

Interesting, will have to check that out too...

a little unrelated but i posted that video on my facebook and a friend linked me to this...looks pretty good too in the "alien" attacking earth genre.

Looks pretty interesting. I agree that the title made me think, "you've got to be kidding," but given the cast, director, producer, etc., I think it actually may be worth seeing. I am also a huge Serenity/Firefly fan - saw the movie, and then bought the first season. It's really too bad they never went beyond the one season.

I just saw this movie now that it's out on DVD. that's a pretty cool knife that Harrison Ford's character has!
