Agreed ! I believe that the XHP steel is the best balanced super steel available at a reasonable price .

And , yeah , the Holdout 1 is a very large folder and not for everyone . Carry is surprising easy though , if you like big . The smaller version looks good too .

Just put in my order . Will be my 1st DLC XHP blade from CS and my first Coyote or any color except black from CS . Now if I could find an similar deal on an XL Talwar ... :)

Cold Steel has an even better price on the OD model on the ltspecpro site. On sale for $75 and I believe there is still an additional 5% on top of that. I already have 2 Hold Out 1's and I'm having trouble resisting getting another one.

NOW you tell me ? Oh well , hopefully the Coyote will match my outfits better . This colored handle business is new for me and hopefully not addictive ! ;)

Well, you could always get the OD as well and then you'll have options for more outfits. Just make sure those outfits have big pockets :) The Hold Out 1 in coyote was my first Cold Steel and I never really liked the color with the black blade and hardware. I recently switched the silver parts from a black handled Hold Out and now I really like the coyote finally.

Whoopee ! Received my Knife Center order today via USPS . Really loving my new Hold Out 1 Coyote PE .

Big " THANK YOU !" to Knife Center . I ordered online and just included a brief request for them to check out the lock function on the knife because it is on clearance limited to available stock . Last Hold Out 1 I bought had terrible lock stick that took several months to work in . KC actually checked it out and sent me a perfectly smooth operator . Now I'm spoiled !

Got it to me surprisingly fast too . Basically it was ordered Tues and delivered Thur . Bravo to USPS also esp near Xmas time .

This was a catch and release for me. I found the handle too wide and awkward to hold.

The holes in the handle help , but unless your hands are big , the widest part of the handle is a bit awkward . I often hold more toward the butt where it narrows down . Not as ergonomic as the other big CS folders but somewhat easier to carry for it's size .

Today I noticed that , unlike the pics at Knife Center , my new Hold Out is NOT sharpened all the way to the choil . Not a big deal for me . My Old AUS8 SE model wasn't either . Little safer from closing on your finger .

You should check out the Frenzy. It's amazingly agile.

I was pondering about the frenzy but after watching a few knife reviews.Came to the conclusion that the wharmcliff style blade may not suit my edc cutting needs.

Atm,I'm considering the Counterpoint XL except it's CTS-BD1 steel and not CTS -XHP

I've never checked out a regular or XL Counterpoint. If it had a narrower tip and a thinner handle I'd be more interested.
