I have been pretty busy filling orders, but between glue drying and waiting on heat treats, I had time to make a prototype pikal blade that I have been wanting to do for a long time.
the vital stats are
D2 steel heat treated by me in my new oven!
coyote brown g10 handle
stainless pins
bead blast finish
flat ground blade is 3.125"
OAL is 7.75"
I had fun making this, and a lot of fun stabbing many, many holes in my bench.
This will be my new EDC. The only way I ever get a new knife is to make one to test. The rest of time I get to make cool stuff and send it out the door.
Opinions appreciated!
Tomorrow I will whip up a belt loop so I can try this as an IWB appendix carry.
I just hope I don't forget where the edge is on this thing.
Next one will have a slightly curved edge.
