CPK bringin home the bacon

Pool noodle was worth 15 points, the most on the course. If you skip a cut, you not only don't get the points, but that many are also taken away. I was so stinking close! You had to have 3 complete rings. 2 of my were still attached to each other and the 4th one was incomplete by a hair or 2. So close! It is sometimes hard to make the call in the moment. I kept thinking it was going to give and I obviously thought wrong. The straws also got me and some others (even Dr. Dan) You had to get all 5 on the table to get any points. The cans were also all or none, but I got those, so it was good. :)

Thanks for some explanation on the rules and points!

I'm advocating for us to start posting the points as the cut goes, but change takes time. I think more people would be interested if they understood what was going on. Typically the straws are worth five points apiece but we have to hit them above the crinkles. This weekend you could hit them anywhere but you had to have all five to get five points.

Thanks for the clarification/explanation! I was wondering why Dr. Dan completely skipped the pool noodle, but Bennie didn't (and won).

So in a nutshell, points for each challenge on the course, and I'm guessing there's a points score related to time for completion?

Are there also regulations on HOW certain things must be cut? I noticed that there are usually some objects where the competitors had to push/saw cut, vs simply just chopping/slashing it, like the hanging rope. Was that the case with the pool noodle as well?

Is there a certain technique for the noodle? Just straight thru, or when you get near the bottom do you twist the blade in or out a bit to try to keep it from hanging on by a thread?

Honestly, usually the stupid thing falls off as soon as you touch it and I ha d decided it wasn't worth practicing or putting time into. They worked out a new way to hold it and so I had to try but since I had basically written it off, I wasn't prepared. I will work on it and let you know. Thanks for bringing that up. I hadn't analyzed that yet.
