This is 3 1/2" x 1 1/16" x 5/32" CPM 10V blade with green string micarta handle, 4.76 oz.

Initial sharpness 70g - very good, same as for Dozier and Matsuda. Very thin edge - property which I learn to appreciate most in blade geometry.

Did not cut anything yet, but will do some comparison testing for sure. After all this is best American super-steel so far, which show superior results on ASI test (he has Phill Willson knife).

Size is working size to me. In the same league as Busse Game Warden, almost same as Active Duty:

And here this super modern super steel with good old bulat (by Ivan Kirpichev)

Thanks, Vassili.

Very nice, Vassili...let me know how you like it once you start using it. Wow...you really thinned those Busse's! Any problems with edge chipping or rolling with the Busse's being so thin?
By the way, you take great photos....you should work for Playboy or something! :D Maybe they'd give you some "fringe benefits".

great looking hunter. versatile skinner yet pointy enough for all other chores....and 10V!!!
congrats:D

Busse edge are not thin, it is quite thick and this is why edge looks so wide, but it is around 30 degree and so I do not notice any problems - I did cut thick leather on wooden base and di not have any problems. But this J.P.Holmes knife has thinest edge I ever see so far.

Thanks, beautiful things deserve to be shown on good pictures...

That knife is great looking and would seem to be a performer. Really nice handle ergonomics. Thanks for the post, links to knife maker, and dimensions of the blade. I think 5/32" is just right for slicing and sturdiness.

Vassili,
Just how thin is it? Is it 5/32 like someone posted above? 5/32 you should be O.K. with. It's not crazy, like under 1/8 or anything, right?

It is - 3 1/2" x 1 1/16" x 5/32" (90mm x 27mm x 4mm) and Busse Game Warde is 6/32" (5mm).

So it is good working thickness, but most important for me is edge thickness - J.P. made it very thin, so I will enjoy cutting as well as it will be also pleasure to sharpen!

Thanks, Vassili.
