I was thinking of adding a Alpha Dorado with CPM 154 blade as my new EDC. I was wondering how does the ti coating hold up to everyday use? Will it scratch and scuff easily? Or should I get one with S30V for EDC?

I don't think that everyone has seen the Alpha Dorado in black face. I sure hadn't noticed this variant. It won't reflect light so it will not give away your position via reflection. All coatings wear. Even those as hard as diamonds. Not bad looking.

O buddy, are you saying that is the knife of choice while wearing your Ghillie suit. Sorry I have no experience in this area. 300

I understand every type of blade coating will show signs of use. I was looking for opinions on wether people thought it was more or less durable than other types of blade coatings.

Here's mine... I think the ti coating scratches and scuff easily... I like the S30V better...

:)

The dark gold coating on that Crosslock is TiN (Titanium Nitride). It has a Hardness Rockwell C scale (HRC) of 82. The HRC of the blade is around 60. The Rockwell C scale is not linear. The coating is much harder than the blade. If you are scratching your TiN coating, you will certainly scratch your blade.
