Hey guys I got the Orange Blur in CPM 154cm and used it to break down some zip ties and boxes and to my surprise it was chipped like crazy afterwards! Does cpm 154cm chip that easily?

Probably just needs a quick sharpening job. I've got a CPM154 blur and Galyean JYD pro series and neither chip with zip ties / boxes.

+1 on this. Probably just has to do with the factory edge -- if you still have the problem after you've sharpened it yourself a few times, then it might be time to contact Kershaw CS about it.

Thanks for the reply guys guess I'll spend some time on the sharpmaker and see if it fixes the problem

Probably because the Blur is still a really great knife despite it's age. I still find one in my pocket on a regular basis:thumbup:
Plus the fact that it's almost certainly one of their best-selling/most popular models. More people with a given knife means, all else being equal, that there are more people who might start threads about it.

I have had no problems with mine chipping. Cpm154 is consiidered a very tough ss. That being said there is some pretty nasty cardboard out ther that could be responsible for the chips I.e. super thick cardboard or recycled garbage

Here is a review I did for another forum
This is my first review of a knife. Over the winter I took a trip to three little indians in nyc. As I was there I spotted a cpm154 blur . Knowing there is only a few production blades in this steel I decided to buy it. Yesterday was the first day this blade got the glory of coming to work with me . The ergos are ok,could use a little bit larger finger guard. Everyone knows how awesome the speed safe is so I won't get into that .
I had a task to complete at work so I decided I would take some pics and review this blade. Monrovia is a great grower from Ca and Oregon, I believe. They make great specimens but the pots are always too small and the plants blow over everyday.

So I decided to stake them and tie them up . I used burlap to wrap trunks . Burlap is known in my exp. to be an edge killer.

After all this cutting and some plastic wrap towards end of day the edge is as sharp as when I bought. I suggest you buy one ASAP . The one place that still has some is knifeworks.to get this knife for under a hundred is a down right steal .

How do I get an edge like that?

Buy an edge pro or wicked edge would gibe you that edge the easiest. Good flat stones and polish on cardboard to but I've never tried that and don't think it would end up well for me
