How durrable is CPM-3V as a knife steel? How well does it hold it's edge and hold up to hard use? I'm intrested in Fehrman knives but also considering Busse Combat. How does INFI and 3V compair to each other? I was reading up on www.knifetests.com but they did not test a Fehrman 3V knife but tested several Busses and they were impressive! Many thanks!!!

yes knife tests is fun to watch but do you really plan on doing that?
for real world usability I prefer CPM3v

All I can say is that I still with INFI because I know it will not let me down ever.

I have done stuff with my Battle Mistresses that would have broken most other blades. ;)

I pounded one of my Tank Busters into a stump edge first and beat the heck out of it with a heavy batton striking it on the handle stressing the knife, I don't know of many knives that would have survived that one. That was pretty much the same thing as putting it in a vise and beating it with a big hammer. :D

one more for infi.

Enough for YOU, maybe. But not all of us are satisfied with blades that might break under heavy use.

Who says I don't enjoy tough blades?

My ratweiler, HI ang khola, to name two, aren't made from infi or 3v. The idea that either of these two would break under heavy use is just silly.

3V is very durable.
3V holds its edge extremely well during hard use.
3V and INFI are very comparable.

Buy the design you want, not the steel.

Thanks everyone!!!!! I guess I'll have to get both!!!! So what is the best way to get a Busse? I can't seem to find any on their website.

You should go back and look again. They are currently offering the Bushwacker Mistress and the Boss Street. Failing that, there is a busse sale forum right here on bladeforums
