Last night I was disarming the child safety on a cigarette lighter for a friend. I whipped out my Kershaw Avalanche and cut away the safety mechanism... and also cut the top off the "knuckley" part of my left trigger finger   :barf: . The damn thing started bleeding immediatly so I used the same knife to cut a strip off my T-shirt and bandaged it up. Then it started bleeding through the "bandage" :barf: so I had to sit on my hand for half an hour to stop the bleeding.

What's the moral of this story?
CPM-440v is SHARP!!!

VERY NICE KNIVES U HAVE SOLID S.TOBAD FOR U'R CUT,KEEP IT CLEAN.LORD ONLY KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES I CUT MYSELF....

I ain't worried about the knife... that little ****er can hold its own.

Now my finger... IT HURTS LIKE A BITCH!!!

I did get a LNIB MT manuel Socom today though, so that made things slightly better. ;)

You made a great knife choice for cutting yourself!:D
I love that very thin edge they put on the Avalanche.
It really is a good thing you didn't cut a little lower or we'd be reading about your re-attatchment micro-surgery.

Gotta luv them Kershaw Avalanches!

You ain't kiddin' Solid!! I used my Kershaw Boa (also CPM 440V) to cut some rope. That blade passed through the rope so fast that I didn't even have the chance to slow the blade down before it cut DEEPLY into my right middle finger! Didn't hurt (at first) but MAN did it bleed! Took over 10 minutes of constant, heavy pressure to slow it down to a trickle. I still carry that badboy every day!

CPM 440V is not sharp. It is the blade made out of CPM 440V that is sharp. ;)

Didn't anyone ever tell you you aren't supposed to cut yourself. It tends to bleed and also to hurt. :p

Now that I have been enough of a smartass, sorry to hear of your unfortunate run in with the sharp part of your knife. It happens to all of us at least once I am sure. I hope you are feeling much better now.

I underestimated the goodness of Kershaw's sharpening on my Ricochet, and ended up with bleeding from my finger without even realizing what happened. Darn thing went right through a rope and into my finger, and I didn't know I was cut until I felt blood trickling down my fingers. Now I have a Boa, and that thing has an even thinner and sharper edge, if I ever cut myself with it I'm probably screwed.

Try a Sebenza then:eek: !

CPM 440V does not always 'feel' as sharp as it in fact is. It sure does cut!

I heard that the Avalanche is a good defensive design as far as grinds are concerned. The funny thing is, I got that quite a while ago and I'm still working off the factory edge.
