What's the word on this steel? An article on "Super Steels" basically states, we are chasing our tails trying to find the Perfect steel. This New steel, A30, shows consistent results while the other New steels do not. A2, D2, 02 and 154 CM for example, show consistent results. I'll try to get a link to the article.

Define consistant results. Do they mean consistent performance in one or more properties like wear resistence, grain structure, etc?

A2 is a new super steel? I thought it was a standard tool steel. Never owned or handled anything in A30 to my knowledge. Where are the knives made of it that are providing these amazing results? If its not in use as a knife steel I dont see how it can be outpreforming the others.

This could be a type-o. I'm gonna ask the guy who sent me the info. Stay Tuned.

Sorry all. S30V is the "new" knife steel that shows the most overall consistent results. A30 was a type-o. But the "old" steels like A2, D2 and 154CM were "right there" with the same consistent results.

From what I have read, and seen in tests S30V is a good steel (I believe it has greatly increased wear resistance, and good over all strength too). It also happens to be quite expensive to buy, making the end product more expensive.
