Hi Guys.

I've been collecting knives for years but am new to Spyderco's products...a friend just sold me a CPM-D2 Millie with that highly polished blade and that's where I have a question:

I love the knife, and have used it as my EDC for a couple of weeks now. What I've noticed is the blade seems to scuff easily. I don't baby my knives but treat them all well - what I've used to clean the blade after use, is mild soap and water followed by wiping it dry with a soft cloth.

Unlike my other D2 bladed knives, in daylight I now see fine scuffing marks on both sides.

Is this normal wear stuff for that finish?

Yeah, you're probably right about it being normal.

The scuffing sure doesn't affect either it's overall looks or performance. I thought at first it was too big, but in the last week of use, I've begun to really respect it's ergos and it cuts like a demon!

Thanks.

it is more of a satin finish rather than a polished finish. unless the previous owner changed the finish.

for a satin finish, some extra fine grit sand paper or a scotch brite wheel will normally restore it.

if it is truly a polished finish, some ultra fine sand paper followed by a metal polish should do the trick.
