Besides benchmade.

I'd like to try out a spyderco in it and really thin it out. Looking to spend 100+

If you don't mind pre-ordering, knifeworks.com has 2 or 3 limited run Spydercos in CPM-M4 on the way.

Spyderco has the Gayle Bradley and an upcoming Ti Military Sprint Run (I think), although orders for the latter may have already been filled - I'm not sure.

Even though you said besides benchmade. Incase you dont know aeromedix has a preorder on cpm m4 ritter grips for 150

BM 760+++++++++

That is if you like tantos.

Until Spyderco came out with the Bradley folder with M4, I think BM was the olnly knife company making a folder with M4. I know the BM 760 LFTi has it & I believe there is or was a 710 model in M4, but I'm not totally sure.

If you find another manufacturer that has an M4 blade steel folder, please let us all know.

The 710 in M4 are long gone, you might be able to find them on the exchange. Spyderco only did a sprint run of 500 for the G10/Ti military in M4, but the list filled up in the first 5 days or so, but won't be released until May of 2010 so they won't be out on the secondary market until after then.

Sad to hear its a really nice knife, I understand why you may not though, tantos are not for everyone.

Next M4 blade in my future is the knifeworks millie.

The Spyderco Gayle Bradley CPM M4 folder, as suggested earlier.

It can be gotten for 116 at the Shoppe.

It's probably my next knife...just 20 bucks away.

Off the top of my head and before coffee, I think it's pretty much covered above. The only production M4 folders that come to mind are from Benchmade and Spyderco. BM has had LEs of the 710, 806 and 960 as well as the "Gaucho." There are large and small Ritter Grips coming in a few months. The 760 is regular production. Spyderco has the Gayle Bradley in regular production and a LE of the Military (which is due later this year but apparently fully pre-ordered). Not much scope for branching out, unfortunately.

I've seen some nicely done regrinds here on the BM 760. I, too, am no Tanto-lover, but the 760 - to me- is an awesome package even as delivered. It starts off well over a $100, however. I bought one - on a lark - from my local pusher. In the hand, you really don't notice the Tanto end - the M4 is awesome. The handle has a great feel - lite heft. The bevel/edge is fairly decent on mine - but I hear they are the usual, of late, hit or miss due to the hand finishing. If you have only one Tanto, like me, let it be this one - celebrating Bob Lum's knife-style, the American Tanto. Or... get it reground! I bought mine assuming it would be reground... not now - I've grown accustomed to it.

Agreed, the 760 looks really nice. Pity I'm a lefty :(

IMO the 760 is a bad fit for lefties. I can easily manage most (but not all) framelocks and linerlocks, including the 760, but the single stud is a deal-killer for this lefty.

I bought a few Benchmades including the 760. IMO, it didn't reach it's true potential due to build quality, and geometry. I like the Guacho better for use, though it is a strange recurve type reverse tanto that does better with a sharpening system, than bench stones.

Of all the CPM M4 folders on the market at this time so far the Gayle Bradley Spyderco is by far my favorite. Nothing needed out of the box, and much thinner grinds than any Benchmade, if that's what you like. It's very well built, stout, but feels great in the hand. No alignment problems like I've had on a few of my benchmades ( all but two actually)

Out of the box, the Bradley is the best IMO.

I agree

I'm very happy with the 950 Rift in M4. The edge is thinner than any other Benchmade I've had. Mine locks up tight and the blade is centered. I know others were not so forunate to get a good one, however.

I haven't used the Bradley as much, but so far its seems great. I read that the Rc on the Bradley may be close to 65, which would be fantastic. I'm eager to get some confirmation on that.
