Finally got around to getting a Gayle Bradley. It's been on my list for over a year, but I keep getting distracted by sprint runs.

Lovely knife. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

CPM M-4 is one of my favorite steels. There are, of course, several better steels available, but I still love M-4. :)

Better edge holding, yes. Better toughness, sharpenability? Not all in one steel. Better overall? Matter of opinion.

I have five knives n CMP M-4, so please don't get the impression that I dislike it. It's a wonderful steel.

Not at all, just making the point there isn't really a better or best steel. I actually prefer S90V to M4 in medium sized slicer type folders. However in bigger, or hard use type folders, I'm willing to trade some edge holding for a toughness. Basically in knives like the Para 2 and Military edge holding, is the most important quality to me (to a point of course I don't something that has the toughness of ceramic/glass) 10V, K390, Rex121, would be awesome sprints to have, would I want a machete made out of those steels? Probably not (though I haven't actually looked at the toughness of those steels, so they may be adequately tough). What knives do you have in M4? Which do you like best? Last one, favorite steel? For me, of steels i've actually used/tried- S90V for folders, 3v followed by 52100 for fixed.

I have a Spyderco Mule, a Military, and three Benchmades. The Military is my hands down favorite. The BM Osbourne Gaucho is my least favorite. It's actuaslly quite a good knife, I just truly despise that damnable recurve in the blade.

I plan on picking up a Spyderco Gayle Bradley in next year's budget!:p:p

I dont know, I use my gayle bradley daily for construction, thats some damn fine steel, tough stuff. I've cut hard fiberglass with it, tons of carpet, siding, I even had to cut some roof shingles with it (though I quickly regretted that one)(my utility knife fell through the gap at the ridge and I had to finish the roof)
