Been reading the specs on the CPM S30V and they are impressive. It not only surpasses the 154CM in edge and rust resistance but surpasses by 4 times the transverse toughness.

So, what are the possibility of adding this blade to ...say a BK7??

What would be its cost?

Excellent topic. I would be interested in whether CPM S30V actually outperforms basic carbon steels in anything besides rust resistance. My favorite cutters are carbon steel, although I also have blades in VG-10, ATS-34, Sandvik stainless and whatever SAK's use. I've never had a serious problem with carbon steels rusting.
 
Thanks, yes high carbon tools steels are gresat performers. S30V may not be cost effective for a large knife, but I hope Camillus makes a straight blade/full tang with about a 4.5" blade model out of that stuff.
