I started searching two days ago for the TTT diagram for the crucible CPM S35VN and CPM 154CM, even sent an email to Crucible that went unanswered, found posts in other forums with references to them so I know they exist but no actual link.

If someone has these diagrams and can share them, they will be appreciated. You can post a link here or drop me a private message.

Thanks

Pablo
PS: I do have the HT datasheets for both steels, but I want to know more.

Finding TTT diagrams of modern steels isn't easy as sometime they generally just don't worry with the testing to generate them. Most steels now are designed for a specific purpose with a manufacturer's recommended heat treat schedule being designed for that specific purpose. No need for a TTT diagram to heat treat a die made of a steel designed for dies with a heat treat schedule optimized for dies, so forth and so on. Sometimes that HT works out to be great for other purposes but most of the time it is good but not the best for applications outside of what the steel was designed for.

That's part of the fun of knifemaking, so brush up on your scientific method and start tweaking one variable at a time and design a test that fits your parameters...

A TTT is useful for carbon steels, but for air hardening high alloy stainless steels, I doubt they would offer the casual maker any info of use.

Suffice to say that the pearlite nose is not an issue. Mf is probably around -100F. I would just use the HT charts provided by Crucible. They have proved reliable to me. Brad at Peter's may have more technical info.
