What do you know about that steel? How does it compare to S30V? the little I found about it claims that it's a step up from the S30V in every aspect. Is this true?

I've heard it's an incremental step up from S30, probably most users would not be able to the tell much difference. Just speculation though, there's so little of it out there yet so not much feedback.

I've used a ton of S30V blades from different producers now and I also have a new Chris Reeve Sebbie in S35VN as my EDC. I have noticed with this S35VN @ 58-59 RC that it takes a slightly better edge than S30V, though it seems a bit softer. Edge retention seems to be close...but a little less than S30V...but it is definitely easier to touch up and get back to hair popping sharpness. At the end of the day, I see it as a slightly better blade steel. This, however, depends on the user.

as i understand it the goal was greater toughness at an equivalent hardness with a bit easier machining thrown into the mix
