Can you forge Cpm V4? What are the working temps? What temps would you normalize it at? Thanks in advance

Just 1084, 80crv2, 5160. None of the super steels. I've been making knives for about 3 yrs now. I just don't post here much. I figured since it's a fairly active forum I could find someone that works with the CPM v3 or v4 steel to answer. Thanks

It is technically possible to forge 4V, but it certainly isn't practical. High alloy steels like that are rarely forged. They are difficult to move under the hammer, they can't be normalized due to the fact they are air hardening steels, and once forged require a complex annealing schedule to get them ready for the hardening procedure.
