Hello everyone,
I posted this on the Australian Blade forums but figured some of you here may also be interested so will leave a few pics here...
Its a large knife i have been working on that's made from CPM-10V.
Have hardness tested it at 62-63Rc. Overall length is about 15 inches :)

back from heat teat, hardness tested it a bunch of times and it tested out @ 62-63RC
it will scratch glass easily

need to get the gold heat teat finish off and make the handle..its insanly sharp and knife has no bevel, like a straight razor. Have used it a few times with no handle and it cuts like a dream, will fall through paper under its own weight.

What are you doing for scales?

How thick is it?

I havent got anything for scales yet.. I priced up some micarta locally yesterday; but its industrial stuff and is brown..so not sure if i want to use that or not...

Im not near the knife at the moment but i think its about 2.5mm thick, handle is 5mm thick :)

That is cool. I have thought about making a big knife from 10V myself. Be ready cause that stuff will cut forever.

Fish fillets are better like this.

Haha that made me chuckle.
If the wife (or anyone) ever asked why on earth you need this, well you have the perfect answer "its a filleting knife!"

^Thanks Big Chris, you should definitely make something out of the 10V!, its a bit of a pain to grind but I think its worth it! It sure took forever to sharpen it, even when i started with a coarse diamond stone! I used 3m ceramic 40 grit belts for most of the grinding :)

I have quite a bit of 10V left and have already designed my next knife that will be made from it :) its called the "fillet assist"
