I have a few knives on my must get list, at the top of which is the CQB-1. I have a few questions though. The weight is not listed on the website. Could someone check it for me, please? Is the sheath as good and versatile as it looks? I have a Yari which is my favorite fixed blade of a similar type. It came with an excellent concealex sheath, which is part of it's appeal. I also like the smallish handle on the Yari, but the CQB-1 looks to have even better ergonomics, only slightly larger. Is this correct? I'm looking to the CQB-1 as a 1" longer version of this great knife, with a similar slim and quick feel. If anyone is familar with both, I'd much appreciate your comments.

My main question about the Maxx is whether or not it carries well (strongside front pkt). I like larger folders, but this would be bigger than all. I mainly EDC the FRN Endura and Military. I have no problems with either, but the Mili has an excessively large 5.5" handle for only a 4" blade. I like the ratio of the Maxx at 6.25" handle to 5.5" blade. Do y'all EDC the Maxx, or is it mostly eye candy? How does it feel in hand and pocket? I don't want it for show, rather to carry and use. I try to buy only the best based on what I know I like, and how that jives with comments and reviews by fellow knife nuts. Thanks

I am somewhat overweight with heavy thighs, but wear loose pants and carry my CUDA MAXX 5.5 in my right, or strong side, front pocket. It rides fairly deeply in the pocket, not being particularly noticeable to others except for the color of the scales. I have not noticed any binding or discomfort when wearing it, indeed, it rides very well in that mode. The only problem that I have ever encountered was when I left some loose change in the pocket with it and a couple of the coins became lodged between the scales at the back of the hilt, down near the bottom (remember that it is tip-down carry, a system with which i heartily concur). You might think tha the D-2 steel in the knife would not be bothered by the softer metal in coins, but that metal does take away the fine edge at the point of contact. I resharpened it and now carry my coins in a coin purse which cures the problem.

BTW, when I first got mine, the frame-lock was a bear to disengage, but it took only a relatively few openings and closings for the roughness on the faces of the two contact edges to wear in and smooth out so that engaging and disengaging the lock is now easy but still very solid and secure.

carries exceptionally well. I even carried it IWB in front right "appendix" carry until I noticed it was eating up my pants. I have carried it strong-side front pocket and I never even know it's there, except when getting something out of the pocket of course. I've also carried it in the little pocket on carpenter pants/shorts. For such a big knife, you certainly barely know it's there.

You are correct in your comparisons of the Yari and the CQB1.
The Yari is a little brother to the CQB1 in a way that The CQB2 cannot be.
For me the Junior models handle is just too small.
The CQB1 is just perfect.

I've EDC'd a MAXX for a year, then recently switched to the Aftermath. Both a great knives. I also love the blade length to handle ratio. The knives both carry extremely well. The MAXX better though. I never notice the maxx. I've carried it in both front pockets, side pockets, waistband. It's fine everywhere. Have fun with it!
