This is one heck of a blade.
I just got mine (my birthday present).
The blade is more like a drop point with a false edge, but still, a very good utility blade shape. PE edge is nicely ground, although a bit uneven near the tang on the left side, it didn't affect the performance.
When I was trying to put the knife back in the cardboard "sheath" (which is in a plastic bag) after I checked it out, I missed the sheath, and instantly, the knife just cut open the bag like it wasn't there. The blade came very very sharp, and shaves very easily. Black coating is OK, but I suspect that like many other black coating it's probably going to scuff up when used roughly, a rather small price to pay for a good carbon steel knife.
The handle is well designed, even though it doesn't have an explicit guard, the handle is designed so that the likelihood of your fingers slipped off your grip is pretty slim. The canvas micarta is less rough than the G-10, but still it makes pretty good grips. The thumb serrations on the spine needs to be changed. They're too wide and too further apart to have serious grip, not to mention the slabs of the micarta covers a good portion of the serrations, rendering it useless. I like the thumb serrations on the Spyderco Chinook, because they have good grips, but this is still pretty minor for any knife.
Edited to add: the handle slabs is a bit loose. Probably someone who drilled the holes for the pins to pin the handles were a bit off and bigger than the pins, that's why the handles slabs are moving.
The sheath is a nice one, like the BK7/9 series, nylon with kydex insert, and a utility pouch. The kydex insert is required because a blade this sharp will probably cut through the nylon like nothing. And the utility pouch has an elastic on it, so the flap is probably redundant.
It's one nice piece of a knife!
