Just got my new Emerson today but found that the blade was way off center - almost touching the handle to the left when looking down on the blade. Is there a way to adjust this or do I have to send it back to Emerson? Thanks.

loosen the screws then push the blade in the direction you want it to go, and tighten the screws. Usually does the trick. Be cafeful with the blade, and don't push hard

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Tried that and it did not work. The blade just does not want to move. If I can figure out how to post pictures I will put up a few. Now that I have opened it and closed it a few times it is definitely hitting the liner.

Try wedging the blade near the pivot with a piece of folded paper. Wedge it so the pressure is towards the side you want the blade to move. Loosen the pivot and scale screws and re-tighten without taking the wedge off. Adjust pivot to desired tightness. This worked with some of my off center blades. I hope it works with yours.

Loosen the stop pin and the pivot screw and slowly re-tighten watching the blade as you do. Sometimes if the stop pin or pivot is tightened too much before the other it will uncenter the blade.
