Greetings,
I looked thru but didn't find a post about this model.

I believe I'm purchasing my first Emerson knife soon - March or April. The model that caught my eye was the CQC-10.

It looks like a great all around knife. I was wondering if anyone has any experience handling it? I'll be carrying it every day, to perform most knife functions up and including (God forbid) SD. Right now I carry the CRKT Cruiser.

If anyone has any thoughts on this model, I would like to hear them. Please note: I have no experience with the karambit model of knives that seem so popular - I think I'll stick with a rather straight blade.

Many thanks for the read and any posts.

P.S. - Does anyone know if this model comes with a pocket clip? thx.

Yes it comes with a pocket clip.

The CQC-10 is a good Emerson knife to start with. The handle feels real good in the hand, and the size is a nice compromise between easy to carry & big enough to do most tasks.

The 10 is a knife iv got allot of time for. The handle is one of the most comfortable in the range IMO and the opening hole on the blade is a nice change to the disc you usually get on the EKI knives. Iv got a non serated version with the satin finish and its held up very well.
Have a look at the cqc-12 as well, its my and many other peoples favorite Emerson. It has a frame lock rather than a liner lock which is a big plus IMO, it does cost more but is a relly good knife and probably the best folder EKI makes.
The 10 is a good start any way and should blow your CRKT out the water

I've had my 10 since Christmas and it's become my favorite EDC knife. I was leery of the wave feature at first but have become rather fond of it. Sharpens well, feels good in the hand, perfect size. The liner lock took about a week until it was fully seated on the blade. No play in the blade and I love spearpoints.

I just meant to say that I liked mine and got carried away.

The 10 is a great choice for your first Emerson. I also like the 8, but its not for everyone.

I like the 8 too, it kind of reminds me of a Persian thats been to the gym :D i do prefer my non waved 8 though.

i very much prefer the '12 to the '10, or really most other production EKI's.

Many thanks to all the posts. I have looked again, paying attention to the models 8 and 12, based on the reviews here.

Both the 8 and 12 look like they're built like a tank. I appreciate all the opinions - however I do side with Gunfiter with liking spear points.

Since I do live in the communist republic of Illinois I thought about the 14, with the shortie blade - but for right now I think I'm still leaning towards the 10.

Many thanks to all for taking the time to post - I'm sure I"ll be reading and re-reading them until I purchase in mid-March or so.

Gentlemen - this is my thank you post. I decided to get the new model 15 instead of the 10. It arrived today and I couldn't be happier.

Incredibly sharp. Just sticks to your hand - doesn't feel like it will twist or turn at all, it just locks right in. Pulled on my jeans and practiced with the wave feature - it will take a little bit more time but even now I managed to get a solid open more times than not.

Thanks to all that responded, not only to my question but to the entire little Emerson sub-forum here. It's a great knife.
