I'm preaching to the choir here, but here goes:

I bought a rather well-used CQC-10 from another member here, and I absolutely love this knife. The build quality is pretty impressive. It still locks up tight, and the blade is still fairly well centered, even after what appears to be 1-1/2 years of fairly good use by the previous owner. The scales were mod'ed (which is fine, I plan to do some work of my own on them), but overall, this is one of the most impressive knives I've owned.

I especially like the fact that it's built with PHILLIPS SCREWS, ya'll. Nothing against Torx, etc., but I'd rather have Phillips.

Thanks for a great piece, Mr. Emerson. Some more will be coming to live here pretty soon. :D

thx - cpr

Glad you're happy with your Emerson.
There's nothing like them.

Glad you like the CQC-10,

I've been pondering between the 10 or a Horseman, who knows which one will win. :p

Heck, get both of them. You can always sell one or the other. I was looking at the Horseman, and several others, when the CQC10 came up on the FSBI forum. Seems that the Horseman is a little smaller, by about a 1/2" overall, more or less? I may get one; I know some folks here who work a ranch property, and I can give it to them if I don't carry it enough.

I really like the 10. The opening hole sets it apart from other Emersons, which I like.
My next Em will either be the 10 or 8. These knives are excellent quality. Can't wait to get the next one.

I just picked up a brand new 10 myself, and I agree it is totally fantastic and will make a great duty knife. I used kind of a modified method of sharpening it on my sharpmaker (sharpen it more like a chisel grind) and it is SICKLY sharp! The down side... now I want an 8 and a Commander.

Yep never thought of that, the opening hole that is,.. just like my Spydies.:p
I can have the best of both worlds, Hmmmmmmm?? I'm thinking :D

It never stops, just one more, till I'm satisfied.

Something just occurred to me: did Emerson work with Spyderco, and let them use the "wave" concept on the Endura Wave, and Spyderco let EKI use the "hole" concept on the waved CQC10? Hmmmmmmm...

thx - cpr

No Emerson didn`t work with Spiderco on the CQC10 . The magical spiderhole isn`t seen on any of the Emerson knives .

The Spyderhole patent has run out so they dont actually need Spydercos say so to use
it and I think the fact its not a round hole on the cqc10 and kerambit gets over that problem too.
The spyderco waved knives are done with EKIs blessing though.
