I already own the Commander, and am thinking about the CQC-12. The blade is slightly longer, but it looks like the handle is smaller...

Is this a bulkier/heavier knife than the commander? I can't seem to get a consistent opinion on this...

The Commander is great, but I have 2 gripes: the tip is not pointy enough, and the blade seems too short for the handle.

Thoughts?

The 12 is a HD--Heavy Duty--knife. It is a framelock instead of being a linerlock like the commander. The 12 would be a great EDC. I believe it's what Mr. Emerson carries on a daily basis. Pretty good endorsment IYAM!!!

its thinner than the commander, probably liter too, i like the blade grind a LOT better, better lock, imho the '12 is the top production EKI, bar none.

i have carried both the commander and the '12 and the '12 carries much better imho,

The 12 is a better knife for sure, Im not a huge fan of recurve blades so i dont really use my commander but my 12 is used all the time.
I only have a mini commander so im not sure how the 12 fairs against a full size one but i would personally go for the 12 any day.

Got it today. Very nice indeed.

I like the blade shape much more than the commander, and the titanium handle is very nicely done.

Anyone know where I can host pics?
