Hey guys,

I'm really considering picking up a CQC-13. For some reason I never noticed this model before but I love the Bowie blade. I know it won't be the ideal EDC but it is too cool to pass up.

Is this model currently in production? I'm wondering if there is a 2014 version with the standoffs. On one of my favorite dealer's site I found one (CQC-13 SF) but it is listed as "Please Note: These are brand new, vintage stock dated 2005-2006. These have the matte finished blade!"

If you could choose between a new one made in 2014 or a vintage 2005-06 what would it be and why? Would this one have titanium liners on both sides? Thanks!

Ideal for EDC? I carried mine for 5 months straight! Yes it's still currently in production. The difference between the finishes are a matte ceramic coating, like a dull silver (old production) and a two tone of satin/stonewash finish (new production. Mines a 2005 CQC-13 but the new production has a swedge and possibly standoffs.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm kind of leaning towards a new one then. I actually like the standoffs. Now to track one down...

Get it-it's awesome; I have a 2014, and it has stand-offs.

I carried a gerber navy issue from 16 til 26. Carry what you want to carry. I was proud to have kept up with one knife for 10 years. Especially as a youngster

Thanks for the input everyone, I'm still trying to decide. The dealer with the old stock is BladeHQ.

I personally carry the cqc15 now. I like the tanto recurve mutha fuckin BAD ASSNESS OF IT! !!!!!!! but I digress. ... carry what you want to carry

Aias,

Where did you purchase yours?

There are a lot for sale out there, but I want to make sure to get a 2014 with STONEWASH blade and stand-offs.

Thanks in advance!

I noticed that National Knives tells you whether or not the model they are selling has standoffs. If it's not mentioned in the description then the model doesn't have standoffs.

New Graham--email them and ask them to pick you out a nice one, they are pretty responsive.

My first CQC-13 :

And my extreme Irish:
