Well, after being without an Emerson knife for the past couple of months and when a
nice trade presented itself to me I cound't pass it up. Ive admired the snubbie for quite
a while now and really like the idea of a full sized handle with a sub 3 inch edc blade.
Sometimes you need a bigger handle to really get a good grip but dont want to whip out
a 4 1/2 inch pocket sword.

The snubbie really is the definition of a "small big knife." It feels incredibly solid in hand
and the jimping on the ramp/wave really lock in your grip. You can create a great
amount of force and torque when making push or draw cuts. The snubbie has a
'fat mans' belly that I belive will be very useful in edc tpye tasks. The knife is a little
handle heavy(to be expected) but because of the handle guard the balance of the knife
is right were it needs to be.

As far as the build quality this knife does not disapoint. The grinds and edge on the
blade are great. Even bevel and very attractive satin/stonewash finish. Lock up is nice
and early with room to wear and solid.

Really recommend this knife for the people in need of an edc blade but want the
versatility of a full sized handle.

Yes, I agree, it's a great knife. When I had it though, I kept staring at it because the blade so does not really match the normal handle as I am used to. I got used to the snub nose though, it's a great knife!

Nice Knife!

Just picked one up myself. Fantastic knife, especially if you travel a lot through areas with sub 3" restrictions. I also think the ergonomics are absolutely perfect for my hand. It's truly a great knife and has kicked my mini cqc-7 out of my pocket.

I just got this one last weekend. The first thing i did was completely break it down, clean it and oil it up, then put her back together - very easy. It's not that it needed a cleaning, it was more out of curiosity and the simple thirst for knowledge, this is my first Emerson. I am really impressed with this knife so far, the fit and finish is great by the way. Best thing about this knife for me is that it will travel legal in most places.

Here are some pics of it next to my ZT0350 (great knife) as a comparison.

Trashboss,

Those pics are fantastic!! I've been eyeballing the CQC 14 "Snubbie" to go along with my ZT 0350 and your pics were perfect to see the differences between the two...

To me they carry very similar, sometimes at work i will forget which one i have on me and i'll have to run my finger over the pocket clip to tell before pulling it out. Lesson learned because although they carry alike, they are 2 differant animals when pulling them from your pocket, i'm getting used to the Emerson Opener now, it took me a little while to get used to it but it was worth it.
