Hi,

I'm a new guy here and am about ready to pull the trigger on my first Emerson. I'm really considering the CQC-14 as my EDC. Any thoughts? Does anyone have one? Pics? Thanks.

I just ordered a cqc-14 and I am getting another $200+ worth of work done on it :D

Dont worry, I will post lots of pics when it is done!

Its a great knife and a good first Emerson to get

Welcome to the forum by the way :)

Used mine for the first time today - still not sold on the wave - but generally very impressed.

The 14's blade is very similar to the Bullnose and other straight bladed Karambits, so for me it comes down to handle design. I absolutely love the Karambit handle, so that was an easy decision......

OK. Thanks for all the great advice. I'm going to buy the snubby this morning. If I can figure out to post some pics, I'll do so once the knife arrives. It'll be a great addition to my "collection", which consists of a Strider WP tanto and a Benchmade mini-stryker.

i have the 14 and really like it. Legal nearly everywhere, the handle is one of the best in the business. I also have the mini 7 tanto which is superb. My next Emerson will be the A-100. I have Strider, Reeve, Hinderer and other high end knives, but my Emersons are the ones I keep going to when I have work to do. I have met Ernest twice, and really think he and his company are first rate. You can't go wrong with Emerson, enjoy your new knife!

+1 to that!

OK, I ordered the CQC-14 yesterday morning. I'm not entirely certain how long it will take to arrive (it's coming via Priority Mail) but the countdown has started.
:D

I've got one on the way I traded for a Persian. I have a MiniCOm and a tanto CQC-7, too. I like all my Emerson's, although the Wave feature does nothing for me. My only "gripe" is that the liners, backspacer and scales never line up with one another. I know it's only cosmetic, but it still bugs me.

Just received my CQC-14. GREAT knife! The handle is the best I've held on an Emerson. It's HEAVY for the size, though. I wonder where all the weight is coming from? To fit the blade to the handle they used a somewhat oddly-positioned pivot point, so it takes quite a swing to get the blade to lock, but I love the idea of a small blade with a full-size handle. Nicely done!
