Just unboxed my CQC-15 stonewashed. Really impressed with the overall quality. This is only my second Emerson and I'm really convinced that they are fantastic. The first was a CQC-7V. That took a bit of breaking in and cleaning to feel buttery smooth. The CQC-15 right out of the box felt fantastic and buttery smooth. Great lock-up, centered, and deadly sharp. Really like the full size of the knife and it really fits my hand quite well. Thanks Mr. Emerson for another well built knife.

I have a feeling this is not my last Emerson.

Congrats on an excellent choice. Enjoy it and use it often.

I couldn't help myself. Eventhough the knife was buttery smooth I just had to take it apart. I was surprised to see the washers had grease on them. I had read that the washers were self lubricating. In any case I cleaned everything, didn't need it, and I relubed with Brownells "Action Lube" which I use on my weapons. Well I thought the action was smooth before. There is no describing what it now feels like. I can honestly say it is as smooth as my most expensive semi custom-production knives which cost nearly 5x what I paid for this knife. It's totally amazing. You won't believe me unless you try it yourself.

Here's a vid on it at Brownell's
