Hey everyone, I recently got a new CQC-15, and I love the knife. I noticed that the blade was very gritty when opening which was expected. It's since smoothed out well, but I noticed that the detent ground a track into the blade. It's actually made quite an indent into the blade steel.

Is this considered normal for an Emerson? I have never encounter this issue on my other knives of different brands.

It's completely normal. I've never seen a linerlock or framelock with a detent ball that didn't have the tracks. It's part of the design and it has to be there. When new they press the ball into the ti or sTeel and part of break in is cutting that track so to speak.

On some knives you can't see it if the knife is assembled but I assure you it's there.
