I bought a cqc 15 mini new and when I took it out of the box I noticed it does not say mini on it just cqc-15 why is that ?

Where/ did you buy it from? A person or a dealer? It looks to be a regular 15

Regular 15s have 4 handle screws each side and this one only has 3. Unless those are custom scales that cover one of the screw holes I'd say it's a mini. As to why it doesn't say mini, I have no idea. All that I have seen are marked as such.

I've had a few mini-15s from different years, and I've handled others. Without exception, the minis all said "Mini-CQC15" on the blade. That one does appear to be a mini-15. The scale screw pattern is different on the full-sized 15. It's not just adding one more screw, they're actually in different places on the handle.

My question would be "Is it a real Emerson?" If it is, and it does appear to be, then it's most likely just a mis-marked blade. That happens occasionally with most manufacturers. Just makes it uniquely yours.

called emerson today and that's exactly what it is, a mis-marked blade, which I personally think is pretty cool, I have some polished hardware and my knife is just about done until I get the cobalt blue scales and white liners and also some blue and white para cord and also another black skull pocket clip and pivot, then ill swop over

Thats a sweet looking knife. I love the micarta handles on it. I've never seen micarta handles on a cqc 15 mini like that before. Is that a custom?

Yup I make custom scales for all my emersons, I need to order the proper hardware though, might get titanium screws and flame anodize them to that burnt brown or gold look

yes this is a mini 15 that is not marked "MINI"

Those micarta scales look really nice.

I bet it will look really sweet with the titanium screws.
