Hi guys,

I am in the market for a new tactical knife....I've been looking at the various ones that Emerson has to offer, and I've narrowed it down to two; the CQC-15, and the CQC-11.

Now heres the problem: I don't really prefer to have any blade that is over 4 inches....I know the Emerson website lists the CQC-11 as being 4.1 inches....

Now the CQC-15 on the other hand, I've found listed at 3.85 inches....so its a little bit longer blade than the one on my MOD CQD Mark 1.....while I do like the blade of the CQC-15, I'm not so sure of the handle....I don't have any knife dealers that sell Emerson around here (Fort Campbell, KY), so I can't really hold one before I buy it. So to those of you that have these knives; which you prefer? The CQC-15 of the CQC-11?

One thing you can be sure of with EKI is the handle ergoes are pretty much going to be spot on.

If you have giant out sized hands then maybe you could have some gripes with a couple of models but the bigger knives would probably fit nicely any way.

Out the two knives you mention I would take the 11 for sure

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I have the 15, but the blade shape is either a love or hate thing. Like any Tanto blade sharpening is a 2 step process. The 15 feels nice in my hand. I will probably get an 11 one day.

Nothing is going to be as good as actually holding the knife, but here is the picture next to a tape measure so you can at least get some feel for the size.

I prefer the 15 myself as I feel it has one of the best feel in the line and is dfeinately one of the most secure, it very closely resembles that of the 12 one of the most stellar knives ever built IMO. Solid choil with a highly defined bolster and a great feel, the only change I would make would be to put a non-curved blade on it, something much more like the HD-7 blade profile

CQC8!

It is the finest 'tactical' folder on the market IMO.

Big statement, yes, but own one and you will see the light!

'8s are great knives but imho the '12 rules..................

but hey this is 'tween the '11 & '15, neither one of which is on my must have list, never have liked the looks on the '11, had a '15 for a while and swapped it, i'll probably get another though, so of the 2 i gotta go with the '15.

*edited to add* & i just noticed i went w/the '15 a couple posts up lol i didnt notice oops.
