Hi everyone, I am looking into buying my first emerson knife. I own bunch of spydies and benchmades and have been wanting to pull the trigger for a few months. I have narrowed the selection down to the CQC 15 or the Roadhouse. Based off looks and the size I am looking for.

To those of you who have either, or both..what are your opinions on them. Which do you prefer based off looks, performance, blade shape, which one feels better in hand?

Thanks, II

Get a sebbie! Lol jk, i hate those fanboys. Back on topic, im not sure which is "better", but the roadhouse is gonna be a lot harder to find.

I have noticed that it may be impossible to find a plain edge satin roadhouse:grumpy: So going to have to go with combo edge if I side with it.

PE road house has been MIA since christmas but I bet more will come soon. I've seen some PE and SE 15's available now. Can't really go wrong with either.

I have a Roadhouse and its perfectly weighted. The cqc 15 is real nice but not weighted as nice as the roadhouse. IMHO

I own a stonewashed mini 15 and its AMAZING I can only imagine that the regular 15 is a lil more badass!!

I have a Roadhouse and my son has a 15. I would choose the Roadhouse first but both are great knives.

The 15 does seem more available in both PE and CE at the moment. I have both in my hands at the moment. The 15 is an odd one, where your hands fit in the middle and it's not really too forgiving if you have bigger hands, if you know what I mean. Just take a look at the handle shape:

Obviously your hands are either going to fit or not. The roadhouse, like I said, is a bit more forgiving. It fits in the hand extremely well. I've been carrying mine since I've gotten it. Now the blade shape, they're both very similar, obviously th 15 has a bit of a recurve. It's supposed to be a hybrid of the 7 and the commander. In terms of EDC use they both handle extremely well.
It really just boils down to what you can find because they're both excellent knives.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the help guys, especially that comparision pic. I just ordered the CQC 15 SF. I just couldn't pass up that recurve styled blade, think it will be more useful to me than the upswept blade of the roadhouse. Ill let yall know what i think when i get it (Hopefully before weekend)

Good points. I'm jealous every time I see a PE Roadhouse. I'm still looking for one.

I think the Serrated 15 is actually a better choice than the PE in some ways b/c you're getting 3 types of blade: tanto, recurve, and serrated all in one. But OP, awesome choice with the 15. It's a beautiful knife!

I just ordered a 15 too and can't wait till it comes this week. In much the same position, own some benchmades, spydies, bradley's, microtechs, few others but been wanting a emerson real bad. Like the comparison pic. Thanks!

I got the knife a few days ago, and I love it. Most comfortable knife I own. The wave is very easy to use on my cargo shorts and surprisingly the weight disappears in my pocket. Certainly going to be in the edc rotation here on out!

I'm having the exact same dilemma!
I decided I want to give Emerson knives a try and have come down to trying to decide between the Roadhouse and the CQC-15.
I'm leaning towards the Roadhouse primarily because I have very wide hands. But the unique blade of the 15 is hard to ignore.

Dang Insaneinmate, we've got some similar taste

I love the blade shape on the Roadhouse - I just wish it was made in a lefty version!

I couldn't find a plain edge so I got combo.
Now watch, a plain edge will pop up on the bay just because I said that :p
