I think the CQC-15 is a great looking knife and I would love to own one. Does anyone here have one? There are a few things I would like to know. Does it have the same chisel-grind style as the CQC-7? or is it ground symmetrically like the Commander? Does it perform as good as it looks? How does it compare to the Commander as a hard-use SD knife? Thanks!

Definately a great knife, fills the hand has great ergonomics and brute strength to boot. the handle design is the one reason I hose the 15 over the commander or the 10. The blade is a V-grind but the secondary or edge grind is a chisel like all emersons are, sharpened on only left side.

Extremely sharp and easy to maintain, and you will love the 'wave' feature, get one you will not be unsatisfied.

Its not a bad knife but I didn't keep mine for long. There was nothing wrong with it, the handle ergoes. were good, the fit and finish was usuall from EKI but it just didn't do it for me. I don't like recurves much so that was a factor also.

If I was to reccomend a lagrer sized Emerson it would be the CQC-12 with out a doubt

i like the '15 myself, not as much as a '12 or '13 though.

its not really a std "v" grind, not like say a spyderco delica, i forget the exact term they use but its not a std "v".

imho the EKI to get for rough use is a '12.

I've always lusted after the Commander but that fizzled out when the 15 came around. Got mine just last week and am very satisfied with the fit and shape. Though the finish of the clip seems to be wearing off at the tips and i posted a question on how to fix that. For me the blade shape is an intelligent juxtaposition between the strength of the tanto point and the slicing power of a recurve. Kinda like getting a Humvee!!!
