CQC-6 or 5 question and recommendation

A member of my team and a really good friend of mine was killed in Afghanistan a few months ago. Another member of the team was badly injured during the same explosion. He lost his legs and most of the fingers on his left hand. The doctors don't know if he'll be able to see from the left eye.

He has been dreaming for the past several years about owning a CQC-6 or CQC-5. We want to give him one for his birthday (Feb) together with 2 advanced prosthetics legs that were donated.

Now, the boys and I managed to put together money. Is anyone selling a 6 or a 5 in here? Or know where those might be resold?

Thank you so much for the help.

USN would be the best bet, but they go for more than $1k. Maybe contact Ernie directly?

I'd call ernie and explain the situation, might hafta prove you are what you say you are and he may do something for you but not a promise, check the other place gooeytek mentioned custom emersons pop up all the time on there. God bless you guys as well I was in a similar situation when i was in the service, it ended my career sooner than I wanted but I did make it out alive, which is something i haft to live with everyday of my life...Some call it survivors guilt , But if I could of go back and let any of my other brothers come home alive and me not make it I would do it in a heartbeat. Not hijacking the thread just giving my $.02 that i rarely discuss here on the forums.

If the story id legit, best would be to contact Ernest. The aftermarket is anor option but they are now running close to 2k and even then, they dont last long.

Thank you all. I contacted Emerson but they are out until after Xmas so I'll have to wait. I also posted on USN and I'm in the process of paying a membership so I can see if one is on sale on the sale area.
As for money, we put together enough that I think I can get one.

Thanks again everyone.

I'm a member over there if one pops up ill shoot you an e-mail and let you know..As you haft to wait a month to be able to access their sales forum

Yea, they are sort of high in demand and if you watched that Emerson Christmas auction, some of those numbers really surprised me. They were not low numbers, goes to show you there are some major collectors out there.
So I would suggest you do what everyone else says and wait to see if you can get with Emerson directly.
