Hello,

I had a relative pass away this year. He had an Emerson CQC-6. I was wondering where I can find out how muc it would be worth, or how much I should sell it for. I don't have it right now, so I can give a detailed description of the wear on it, but it is not in new condition. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-R

Just to start things off I am interested in buying this knife if you are going to sell it. I am no expert!! I believe that depending on the condition the price range varies. New CQC6 have been priced at $1300, but to me that is way to high. A fair price would be in the $500-$800 dollar range, based on the condition. Although there might be someone who will pay the $1300.
Of course if there is something special about it it could be worth more. Again I am no expert, but am very interested in this knife!!
Thanks,
Peter

The market is the greatest expert on the correct price for any item. A brand new CQC6 sold at open auction recently for $1,025. That is indisputably the fair price at that time. An older 6, in the same condition, is probably worth more, since older ones have been held in higher esteem. This is especially true if the logo on your knife is a curved Emerson, rather than the Emerson SpecWar Knives logo.

The big variable in this is condition. If it is mint, and has the old logo, you have a winner! If it is beat to heck, its worth less; in all events, though, its got to be worth at least $600. You will get a lot of action on it - heck, I'm a buyer too if its the old logo! - so don't sell too quickly.

Les Robertson is a very reputable guy who can probably tell you what you have, and can probably sell it for you at a fair price for all concerned. I think if you post a picture, there are lots of guys here who can give you an accurate and honest price, as well. Good luck, and mail me if its the old logo!!

Definitely contact Les. He knows alot about Emerson customs and their values. I would also be interested when you do decide to sell.

Hello,

I have a custom Emerson CQC7 (specwar logo)that has never been used. Any ideas on its relative value? I would like to sell it if the price is right. If anyone is interested, contact me at robied@mindspring.com.

BTW This is a great forum.

Thanks all for the reply. I just wanted to try and get an estimate. I don't have the knife right now. It's still in my uncles gun safe, and my grandmother doesn't want to deal with getting all that stuff out and deciding what to sell, but when it's time I'll lecha know

Thanks again,
