I asked my wife to get me a Emerson knife for Christmas. Iam for sure i want a CQC 7. Just cant decide if i want the mini or fullsize? It will be my EDC knife. Can anyone please help me make up my mind before my wife kills me? THANKS

The mini-7 is a nice small knife for sure but the "regular" isn't actually that much bigger.

If you have no legal constraints regarding blade length then I would go for the regular over the mini.
That said the mini is a real nice EDC size and is a very usable knife for just about any task it will see.

It's probably worth just flipping a coin as they are both going to be a good choice.

I have all 3 sizes of the 7b, but rarely use the super. The mini see's a lot of use in my office and it isn't much different than the standard.

I have lefty versions of the standard and mini... the mini often ends up dropped in my pocket rather than clipped, as it's about the same size as my slipjoint that's usually there... I've been known to carry both, regular clipped, mini in the opposite pocket.

Question is, what sized knife are you used to carrying? If it's a 3" or less, go mini first. Bigger than 3", go regular... If you like whichever one you get, odds are you'll end up with both eventually.

I just got a mini and I find that it's not much of a "mini" and is in fact good size and a perfect handful. I also like the fact that the blade length is under 3 inches.

I ended up getting the full size. Ordered it today, should be here Monday. My wife said i couldnt open it till Christmas. We will see how that goes! hahahaha! Thanks for all the replies.
