A friend just showed me a CQC-7-A that he picked up for $50. Man, Ernie should throw that design back into production. With a frame lock, of course. It is an awesome knife!

Lycosa, Ernie ground about 200 CQC7As this year. Just FYI. But they weren't for $50 of course, haha.

SPYKEN,
Coolness. We'll be keep'n our eyes peeled for them-there folders! Thanks for the tip!

oh, just fyi...the 2007 CQC7As were half stainless half ti liners, I believe.

btw, email me if you want a hook up on a nice pimped 7A. I think I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Hey Spyken is that the Dogget pimped 7a? If it is that is a hellva knife for sure. I have a couple of the non waved 7's an A and B model. These are pre 07 though I belive. Out side of the 14 it is my favorite EKI. I also have a couple of the BM 970's and a 975 which are uber nice too. I think the EKI version though, I may like a little better in that the scales are more beveled and a tad thicker. I also have the 13, 8, and 11. The 11 is the sleeper of the bunch and totally underated. Now that is a folder I would like to see a frame lock done on. Happy New Year all and keepem sharp

Spyken,
Thanks for the offer but I gots to hold-out on another knife for now. I'll be look'n over my shoulder though! Thanks! HNY!!

no worries...hehe. just spreading the joy with the pimped knives....

I've two 7As, '99 or so. One is#800, the other has no s/n. Liners are a bit thin, but lock up solid and cut like a mofo. A framelock 7A would be just be the greatest!

I have a 2000 7a and it's my favorite knife of all-time. I need to send it back to EKI for a new blade. This makes me sad because I know the new one will be a black-coated one.

Until then I'll keep carrying my 2001 mini-7a.

Yup. I still haven't forgiven myself for that one. I just mailed it out to EKI today with a note begging for them to look around for a satin blade to replace it with.
