I got a leftie Commander some months back, and am really digging it, but recently got the itch to pick up another Emerson. So I ordered a standard (ie. rightie)CQC-7 SFS. I thought it would really be cool to Wave open in a reverse grip. I wasn't wrong - very cool.

Do any of the Usual Suspects carry in the reverse configuration? Only small problem is the inverted lock. But only a minor inconvenience.

Also, for those of you attending the Edged Combatives course held here in Southern California, I look forward to meeting you. It would be very nice to put a face to some of the posters.

I've carried my Commander like that...

but be careful, I had my commander come open like that, reached into my pocket and damn if I wouldnt have severed that vein that runs up into my thumb had I shoved my hand int here really hard.!

Zzzen_Dog - I picked up a waved 7 JUST so I could carry it reversed. I like the 7 on that side as is is straighter than say the PSARK which seems to get in the way a bit when I have to get in that pocket (at least in jeans).

John Hollister posted a couple of hints a while back that really helped me smooth out the draw a lot. Searching may get you a lot more information than this.

That's the reason I got a waved 7. Try putting it in your left rear pocket... it's like greased lightening.

I'm a leftie also, and since nothing goes in my left pocket, that's where my PSARK sits. I've grown quite fond of the reverse grip.

Satin: Thanks for that tip - I actually had that problem the other day. Seems to happen when wearing loose clothing (I had exercise pants w/ loose pockets), and I had my leftie Commander in the left front pocket. When the blade is against the back of the pocket, I feel that this is an extra safety, but not in the case just mentioned.

Solid Soldier: Yup, I'm carrying the CQC-7 in the left rear pocket right now. It's great to have the ability to draw to the front grip (Commander in front) and the the reverse grip (CQC-7 in the rear). BTW good to see you around, haven't seen much from you on Razor's Redoubt or Knifenut lately.

Kal110: I'll be sure to look up those John Hollister tips on Waving. I'm not really having much problem, but smoothing out the draw would be nice.

Laserman1: I'm thinking about a PSARK next. Would you recommend serrated or non-serrated? I'm kind of partial to the non-serrated from a looks perspective, but the PSARK is a working knife, and those serrations could come in handy.

Well to those posting and those who follow, the CQC-7 is a great knife. Just loving it.

Dog - I've been on the other other forum.

I too am considering a PSARK and maybe a full size Commander for my next Emerson buy.
