Will they ever produce a CQC 7B, waved, BUT with a Double V-Grind? Really wish they would. I'd buy 2 right now!

Not quite,

The cqc-7a is a spearpoint blade with a double V Grind.

The cqc-7b is the tanto point blade with a chisel grind.

The CQC-7B IS currently available with the wave feature, BUT it is a chisel ground blade. I would like to see the waved CQC-7B with a double V ground blade.

Get It?

I know it sounds a little confusing, and until recently I did not know that Emerson chisel ground most of their blades. I don't mind the chisel ground EDGE. I can get that taken care of. However, when they chisel grind the WHOLE blade, there is nothing I can do to obtain a conventional edge on the knife.

I just placed an order for the CQC-7A SFS. Wondering if anyone can give me their thoughts on this knife.

Thanks!

its a great knife,
amazing design (modled after the custom version)
top notch materials (ats-34, Titanium, G10)
made by a great company with outstanding customer support.

but thats just MY opinion, i suggest you find out what other people think as well, then i suggest you forget what EVERYBODY else says, even ME, cause its your knife and you should decide whats right for you, other peoples opinions are great, but theyre just that, opinions.

that being said, its still a damn good knife, and contrary to popular belief chisel ground knives are good for edc, and can be eaisly sharpened to a razor edge.

:D

I agree with payback462. I really like the CQC7-A, more than the CQC7-B. It's utilitarian blade shape lends itself to just about any use you could think of. While I prefer the plain edge version, the serrations on the CQC7-A work very well at cutting through rough material. One of the things I like about it is that the handle is shaped just right for a comfortable grip and simply feels "perfect" in the hand. Another bonus is that if you prefer tip down carry instead of tip up carry, you can reverse the pocket clip to suit your preference. What I also like is that you don't need any torx screwdrivers or hex keys to tighten or remove the handle screws. In fact, you can take the knife apart and not have to worry about voiding the warranty.

Thanks, both of you, for your replies. I do a bit of horseback riding and want a knife that could easily cut through a nylon halter if need be in an emergency. I sometimes carry a Marble's drop point hunter which is very sharp. But, I am looking forward to the Emerson. Can't wait to see how it feels in my hand and in my pocket!
