CQC 7 late lock up

My cqc 7v has lock up like that but its solid all around. I'd say use it until it really starts having problems. I'm sure EKI will replace the lock side... I sort of wished they carbidized the lock faces...

You're covered.
EKI just tuned up my HD7 and that lock bar went all the way over.
I'd like to how they did the fix since the HD7 is a framelock.

I've had a lockup that late too, do this and help us out, use the knife just like you normally would and when the knife gets up&down play, let us know, I'm very curious as to how long that lockup will last. Then when it does get play you can send it to emerson :)

EKI has already mentioned multiple times in many different threads that late lock up like that can be the result of waving extremely hard. With that said though they have also said that it will still be plenty strong, but if your really worried about it that you can send it in under warranty.

Was this knife ever disassembled? It looks like the non locking liner is to far from the blade. I suspect the pivot was not installed correctly. Most centering and lock up issues can be resolved with proper assembly.

One of those threads was mine with my CQC-15, one person suggested that rubbing a little pencil graphite on the lock up part of the blade, and it helped it a little.

I had a similar issue let me tell you a little story. I have a 2002 CQC-7 that had late lock up like this, it stayed like this for what seemed like forever, than finally the lock up wore thin enough that it overlocked and got sent to the factory for free repairs...12 years latter end of story.
