I recently acquired a CQC-7 Tanto with Wave. The deciding factors were the blade profile, the wave feature, and the blade length, which is under the Colorado statutory limit of 3.5 inches for concealed carry.
The wave opening is really nice, and could not logically be called a switchblade mechanism, since there's no spring or release button.
I just noticed that it can be held fully closed in the hand and opened easily by a flick of the wrist. I would think this knife would be illegal wherever the local law prohibits knives that can be "opened by centrifugal force". This appears to be a common element of several different knife laws I have been reading lately. This will not stop me from carrying it, because I keep it concealed, don't wave it around in public, and never attract the attention of LEOs, but it does seem technically illegal.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
