well..the story is... after 2 years of use...the black coating was looking ridiculous...so I've decided to strip it(sand paper)...I wasnt satified with the results....then i've tried with the dremel....came out clean....only thing is that I lost the sharp point of the tanto....since then ive tried so many times to bring it back to its factory state...and its a no can do!....(%#@$%$#)....Am I the only one with this problem ?....because I start to think that the tanto blade is a worthless peice of schmuth!....desing to attract buyers that thought they were stronger...but in reality....its crap!!!!!emreson's are the best...exept the tanto b shi....

Emerson knives are some of the most no nonsence user serviceable tools on the planet. They'll get you through thick and thin. Every so often they need to take a trip back home to get refreshed and re energized.

It sounds like you need to treat your Emerson to a trip to the Spa Emerson.
 
So, you've had the knife for over 2 years, and have been using it a lot, (to the point where the coating has come off) and now you hate the design???

BTW, great first post and username.

thanks guys for the replies....I do love the design (looks aggressive)...its just that its not user friendly when it comes to resharpening the blade.....
sounds like a marketing scam.....(lol at the Emerson spa!).... specially with serration...

I live in Canada,,,and last time I bought from Emerson factory, the Canadian border charged me 45 dollars of taxes on a karambit(god I love this one)
so my guess is to buy another one,,,,
 
Well border problems aside it really sounds like you are the reason the sharp point was lost, the simple fix would have been just to send it back.

true:( but it aint that bad its just every time I sharp the point ...I have to resharpened the side...then the botom..then... its never ends!
