Can someone tell me what the table prices are on Emerson CQC 7 knives? Do you guys prefer with or without wave? Thanks for any input.

After checking some online companies, you should be looking at between $155-200 depending on the style you want. I only go with waved models. Some people don't like them but I prefer them. When deployed properly, a waved Emerson is the fastest blade ready folding knife out there...including automatic knives.
Besides, if you get the waved model and decide it is not for you then you can always de-wave it with a dremel but that might void your warranty.

Get the wave. If u dont like it you can just cover the blade with your thumb as you draw it and it wont wave open. Then u can just think of it as a bottle opener.

Definitely go with the wave, if you find you don't like it, you can always draw the knife like Lapedog stated.

Anyone try the CQC-7 flipper yet?

I never even knew that thing existed until recently. Wave, thumb disc, and flipper? Talk about many deployment options.

I hated the Wave at first then I got very used to it. When I switched to carrying something else I had to reacquaint myself to manually thumbing the stud..

To me the Wave is crucial to my choice of Emerson.

They may not always be perfect - but they got the Wave!

I bought one of the all black flipper 7s during their Christmas exclusive run his year. It's absolutely fantastic. Fit and finish and flipping action (and I'm not a flipper guy) are all outstanding. I like my traditional 7s but that flipper 7 is something special.

There is no reason not to get the wave. First of all you get the benefit of being able to wave your knife open, especially crucial for self defense scenarios. Secondly the wave feature makes an excellent thumb ramp. Lastly if you decide for whatever reason you don't like the wave on your knife you don't have to use it. Just put a finger on the spine of the blade as you withdraw your knife from your pocket and it will block the wave from working. It's also better if you decide to resell the knife because most people who want Emersons want a wave.

The CQC7 is one of my favourite knives of all time. There are better knives for EDC and a select few folders that are better for self defense but the CQC7 is for me the perfect knife that does both. Excellent at EDC tasks and perfect for up close SD situations. The CQC7 is just such a great knife. Just be aware of the chisel grind.

There is the CQC7A which has a spear point tip if you don't like tantos.
There is the CQC7B which has a tanto tip.
Then finally there is the CQC7V which has a V grind. (Note it still has a chisel edge despite the V grind)

Personally I have had very good experiences with the 7V. I have a few of them and love them all. I had a B which is great too but I gave it to a friend because he needed a knife.
