Well i got my first emerson a lefty CQC-7 and man is it fast out of the pocket. I was suprised after i put a small paracord lanyard on it and pulled it out of my pocket. Yes i like it now i think i'll be getting a cqc-8 for my right pocket. Thanks Emerson for such an awesome design i'm impressed. Maybe someday i'll get me a custom. :D

I own several CQC-7's, waved and not, combo edge and plain, old and new, and never really liked the design. Every time I spot a good deal one one, however, I end up buying it. Over time, the design grew on me. The true genius behind the design isn't immediately apparent, but it's a slim, lightweight, extremely strong knife that is very unobtrusive; it does a lot more work than it's little size might suggest. It's got an excellent piercing point, the blade is short and thus strong, and the blade doesn't overwhelm the knife assembly. Too big a blade can put too much stress on the rest of the knife and cause a failure. The CQC-7, not so much.

I think the CQC-7 is really everything a knife of that purpose should be, with everything else whittled away.

I don't like tanto points for most of my daily use; the CQC-7 is really ideally suited for a quick and handy fighting tool. I love the recurve of the Commander for slicing and doing most things, but the CQC-7 seems to fill a niche that won't go away. Everyone ought to own at least one.

Well said. It's by far my favorite (THE favorite).

My favorite for discrete carry (CQC-12 is THE favorite). The 7B is also easy to sharpen.

I can't find this knife for nothing.

The one brick and mortar store I've found it in sells it for $200. :(

Emerson posted on Twitter a few days ago that they had many versions of the 7 available, you could order from them for MSRP and still pay less than $200. Or you could wait and see if/when the dealers start getting them in stock. I'm pretty sure Plaza Cutlery still has some 7V's in stock at well under 200$ if you are interested in that model.

glad you like it 762. I can't think of a knife that opens faster. It OPENS as you pull it out of your POCKET! Congrats man, you will love a custom. Just don't get robbed on one :)

Love the CQC 7, got my first one at least 15 years ago and finally got a Super CQC 7 last month.
